Help with Lord Brackley? Please?

I jsut started and I'm already having serious issues. I'm at the front hall with the butler and I have not yet gone successfully through the maze. Drawing maps don't help me. Inventory:

Jewelled Pin
Lavender
Glasses

ANY help would be really helpful!
