> I've been in both castles. Drawbridge is open. Released three prisoners (well, two actually - killed one). Was told where princess was, but cannot figure out how to get to her. I still don't know what the messages on the trees were for, nor can I get back to the boat. Can get to the bridge with the frozen troll, the store (do I need the sign?) Can get to the garden and the tower and the other castle, but cannot get back to the area where the boat is. I read in the other hints that if I'm where the princess is then I have everything I need to finish, but since I know about where she is but cannot figure out how to get to exactly where she is, I figure I must be lacking something still. So I left and went to try to find the boat but couldn't. Tried to fish near the store, but it keeps telling me that the fish are not biting today. Should I keep trying?

By your inventory you are on the right track. You have made you way to where the princess is. I think you are at the end of the game. Check the cell with the hay. Keep working at different things until you move the hay!!!!! I think that is all you have to do. You are at the end of the game. I'll check back in fifteen or twenty minutes.
