I was out in the yard today and saw the first snake of the season. He was a little guy, about two feet long. He probably came out to enjoy the sun. March 11 is a little early, but snakes don't have calendars.

This afternoon, when the sun gets low and the temperature starts to drop, he'll go back to his den. I might see him again tomorrow if the weather is right.
