The game tries to trick you. Stick to the map. If the game tells you that the Northern road turns East then show that on your map. Make an arrow going north then curve it to the east. Make the letter ( N ) on the northern part of the arrow and mark (E) on the arrow that turns east. Once you actually do it you'll get the idea. Of course, don't forget to mark it going the other way so you know how to get back. Example- W to S. Put one arrow on top and the other arrow on the bottom.
