From where you jump, it's in the same general direction that the railway leads up to that point (southeast). It is a location through which rails run, which narrows it down to one area. If you're still not finding it, make sure you get there as quickly as possible -- you'll know the cart has passed on by where you need to catch it when it's no longer given a mention in the area description text.
