I have not played this game in a while so bear with me. You are oviously in the castle. I don't think you will need your sword. You need to investigate the castle. Your length of rope will be useful here. Have you used that key yet? Have you been to the cabin? If so you are near the end of the game. There is a dead end in the castle. Try different things. Again use your rope. I hope this helps you.
