New to Adventure games - FQ

I am new to adventure games but love them - I have been playing FQ - I have

sack
silvercoin
carrot
ropenails
bow
branch
silverkey
goldkey
sword
shovel
hammer
arrowfishing pole
fish
club
ticket
sunstone
leaves
I have given the corcerous two gold coins.

Now I feel stuck - I can't get into the fortress, find the garden and don't seem to have any more leads - what am I doing wrong?
