You need to take a different route. I assume you killed the vampiress because you have the crown of destiny. Go back to the place you found the crown and go west to visit the centeur. If you healed the indian he will help you. If you didn't heal the indian you'll need to do that first. Take the indian to a place where there is a magical creature near the south side of the chasm.
