Ok, that sounds familiar. I remember them talking about who they wanted to finance their work. Aaron invites the guy to the party and encourages the guy to bring Rachel's ex. One theory is out of goodwill, at least the first time.

I was so focused on the box and the timelines that I missed some of the relationship stuff. It doesn't seem quite as important but it really is.
