That question/answer sounds distinctly as if it would have come from Lord of the Rings or something. And I don't get the reference, if there is one. Am I missing something?
Also, I'm one of those "always uses left hand to shift" people. I think part of it, for me, is just convenience. On a conventional keyboard, the left-hand shift is much closer (less movement for the pinky), and I actually think my right pinky is slightly shorter than my left. Plus, on a PC keyboard, the right shift key is much shorter than the left one, making it harder to target. Maybe that's just me. But really, the only thing I use the right pinky for is the Enter key, the apostrophe, and the "p".
Oh, yeah. I'm also a "Home Key" typist. I'm not sure of the official title for that, but my fingers always return to the asdf jkl; position.
I'm actually kind of curious about which thumb people use to press the space bar. I noticed that I always press the space bar with my right thumb (I'm right-handed) and was just wondering who presses the space bar with the thumb that's not on their regular writing hand.
Whoo. That was a long, confusing post. Sorry.
