Here's what I can GUESS, since I assume you haven't tried to go anywhere from that screen.

You just got through the Annoying Rusty Gate, and if you use something sticky you can go up to the east and find the carnivorous giraffe. Which you have, so you're fine.

However, since you have the option to enter that pitch black cavern, you've obviously faced said giraffe at least once.

Go up the steep path and see if the giraffe's still there. If he is still hanging out in the valley, get away from him and go back to fill that bucket with something sticky and sweet. (It'll save you a trip later.) You're going to need to fake him out to get through the valley, and that dark cavern has two exits.

If he's NOT there and you can proceed through the valley without being mauled... the bad guys are going under a certain bridge and about to sail out to sea. Better see if you can catch them.
