My favortie episode though, the one that deffined Sisco didn't even take place on the station. It was the one where Sisco experienced life as a science fiction author for a pulp magazien in the fourties, were he wrote the DS9 story and wasn't allowed to publish it becasue the captain was black. No trek episode on any of the serises ever got close to writing that well. The other neat thing is that in the two prior shows (TOS, and TNG) we saw star basses and I always wondered what they did. If the starships had all the fun who would want to be on a star base? But DS9 showed that there are all kinds of adverntures to be had in the trek universe. The darker tone of the series also made the rest of the trek shows more believable. There will always be a dark side to life but we seldom saw it in the other shows, knowing that it is there now lends credeince to the whole of that fictional universe. Man, I think to much about this stuff. And DS9 did have a ship, the Defieant kicks rump!

I agree. DS9 is probably the best of the series. Especially the last two seasons, which I have not seen nearly enough of. And I liked Section 37 (was that what they were called? 32?). Just confirming our suspicions, the Federation isn't all goody-goody...
