Yes, it certainly does beat working. I did that for a lot of years, but travel has always been my escape. I know people who hate traveling because they had to travel as a part of their job.

Come to think of it, I know people who refuse to go camping because they had to do that in the army. My brother-in-law won't cruise because he crossed the Atlantic on a troop ship back in the 50's. I think he's comparing apples and oranges.
