Polls, political or otherwise, are not to be trusted. There are too many ways to make a poll say what you want it to. Fun polls like the Rinkpoll are OK, but almost everything else is manipulated.
The same goes for political advertising. We have two candidates for an open seat in the Senate. They are not just slinging mud at each other. They are hauling it in and dumping it on each other by the dump truck load. If 1% of the lies were true, neither of them would have any business getting elected. Most people are having a good laugh about it, but I doubt that very many votes will be won or lost because of the mud. Naturally, the TV stations are enjoying the profits.
And both are telling us about all of the things they are going to do about war, immigration, taxes, and such, but neither seems to realize that a Senator's vote in only one of 100. They can't do much without the other 99. I guess they could poll the other Senators. Howard
