I'm of the opinion that The Thomas Crown Affair (starring Pierce Brosnan as Steve McQueen) was one of those exceptions. I always thought it made more sense for Crown to be stealing paintings than money, given that he already had infinite amounts of cash. And actually perfoming the robbery seems like a better way to get your thrills than merely planning it, too.
I think I like them both about equally, though.
