EFSM at end need help please!!!!!

I'm totally stuck. I have got my backpack and been up to the roof. I haven't as yet managed to do anything with the vending machine repair man (as he shoos me away and wont reply) and I have read on other posts about "a piece of flying paper". I am hoping these two are connected?
