You don't need to get the cart upstairs. But the item you may be hiding in it is another matter entirely. (Your small gear and big gear are already upstairs and in the same room, if that's what you're thinking of.)

You CAN get it to a stairwell - and you're JUST strong enough to carry whatever you're hiding in it up the flight of stairs before you have to put it down before you break your back.
