Stuck on FQ2

ok i've taken a walk but know i'm just a little to late for the bridge. i've tried everything i can think of with the river and ocean like going to the island and wading in the river 5 thousand times. is it an item that i'm missing or something i'm just not doing?

20 Onions
Crown of Destiny
Bottle Opener
Iron Support
Goo

2 Tree Branches
Float Ring
Cross
Green Potion

Bucket of Sea Water
