To practice chalk throwing, you either have to clear out one of the two rooms adjacent to the library: Mrs. A's room or the male staff room. IMO, the latter is a bit easier. It might benefit you to break up the potentially lethal English teacher kung-fu battle downstairs. (Didja check out all the classrooms yet?)
As for Crasto, you can't just hand him the cheese. But if the man finds unclaimed food, he's bound to confiscate it.
The books? You can knock them over from the next room over. You have something long enough that will keep Crasto from directly LINKING you to the incident.
