1) The pass ring can be obtained by giving the soothsayer 4 gold coins.
2) Gold coins - From your inventory, you got the one as change, and probably dug the other one up where you got the Yuckyuck leaves. There's one in the forest hiding under some leaves and another in a dead end in that garden maze.
Go pick some carrots and bribe your way back to the garden.
