You are correct. In the past, I've been mindful of the difference, and I thought about the word before I used it in the post, but thought through it incorrectly.
However, I looked the word up at dictionary.com, and two separate dictionaries had somewhat conflicting usage notes about it. Both agreed, however, that "uninterested" was actually the oldest definition of "disinterested." I find that neither uninteresting nor disinteresting.
