I found the following in the November 1, 1999 Florida Times-Union and thought that it would be of interest to you. It's on C-7. This column is by Barbara J. Feldman and it's called "Surfing the Net with kids". The subtitle for the week is "Online population perspective". The website being reviewed is called "The World Village Project".

" 'What if the world were a village? If we were to reduce world population to a village of 1000 inhabitants with all existing human ratios remaining the same then, this would be our reality.' The breakdown: 584 Asians, 124 Africans, 95 Europeans, 84 Latin Americans, 55 Russians, 52 North Americans along with four Australians and two New Zealanders. Puts it all in perspective, doesn't it?"
