(Note: My notebook is still MIA, so this is from memory. Apologies for any errors.)
You may have discovered the following things:
1) You can only make yourself or the Rink invisible, not both at once - one has to be made visible for the other to go invisible.
2) You can de-invisible the Rink from a distance just by thinking about it.
You may not have discovered this yet, but the Rink is very good and quick about hiding in a spot where he will not be seen but where he will be able to cause one heck of a distraction.
