Why wait? I always love a good character study. Howard
PS - A story about my grandfather: Poppa was a big guy, about 6'3" and over 200 pounds. He was also a preacher and a farmer. One time, probably before 1900, his neighbors, also farmers, were desperate for some mules. All together, they needed more than a dozen. The best market for mules was Murfreesboro, Tennessee, which was a long train ride from Lewisburg, West Virginia. So who do you send on a long mission like that? They needed someone who could be trusted with a lot of cash money, and someone big and strong enough to safe from robbers. You also needed someone who knows a good mule when he sees one.
There was no choice but Poppa, so with a wad of cash in his pocket, he boarded a train for Tennessee. As expected, he returned with a train car loaded with mules, and being a good bargainer, he even brought back some some change.
When I started college in Murfreesboro in 1953, he told me that he had visited there once when he was a young man. I got the rest of the story from my parents. I told the story to my grandson who thought his great, great, grandfather must have been pretty cool. Howard
