FQ 2 - AMETHYST

I've done everything in the forest that I think I can do, healed tree, killed, sphinx, beefhead, firedrake, gave liquor to friendly dwarf, gambled, got potions from soothsayer. I now have the amethyst, but where do I go from here? (Tried giving it to pixies and soothsayer, tried putting in receptacle at tower)
