I've been trying to get that rat for about a year now. I've done and tried EVERYTHING!!! I can't seem to get him. What I need is step by step instructions...

The info in the blue box:

You are in a dark and musty storeroom. It's really big; you estimate that it covers about sixty feet from north to south. The room is shaped like an 'L' -- a square missing its northeast corner. Boxes are piled high in places, making passage difficult. A rat is on the loose, and it seems able to run just as fast as you can.

You're in the northwest corner of the storeroom. You can go east and south from here. The rat is just to the south.
