  With the name "John," I've never had to suffer  the indignity of having my name mangled. I did  have an old high school teacher call me  "Kevin" a couple years ago, but he's the  stereotypical absent-minded professor type,  and he got it right once he saw my name tag  anyway. Occasionally people will call me  "Jonathan," moreso now that I have a son by  that name, but that's the worst of it.
  My last  name, however is a different story. It  gets mangled all the time.
