 Help finding a Mac address

So I have a new Windows XP machine, an HP. There isn't any "winipcfg" that I can find, and the DOS "ipconfig" doesn't give me the Mac address of the machine.
I opened up the case and couldn't even find a card. The ethernet port on the back goes directly to the motherboard. They're putting ethernet support on the motherboard now? Anyway, I couldn't find the Mac address printed anywhere.
So does anyone know how I can find out what it is? AT&T Broadband, at least in our area, doesn't support XP yet, but if I can give them a Mac address so they can enter it into their system, I'm hoping I can get it working myself, without their help with setting up the TCP/IP settings and so forth.
  Thanks.
