A popular misconception. For some reason, people are confused by the term. A 19-year-old told me he had a couple of old scooters he would sell, and when I went to look they were toys made for the sidewalk, with no power but your foot.

"I have a scooter" can mean an old dirt bike, a small motorcycle, a moped, a motorized bicycle, a powered wheel chair, a mini bike, a Segway, and just about any toy with two wheels.

It comes with the territory.
