I think my memory banks are too full. This afternoon we dropped by the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, TN to see a production of Guys and Dolls. Good play. Lots of laughs and some good music. The costumes were colorful and the dancing feverish. I had said that I really wanted to see it because It was one musical that I had never seen.
Maybe not. All through the performance, I seemed to know what would happen next. I knew a couple of lines word for word, and even anticipated a little slap on the face that seemed to catch most of the audience by surprise. Naturally, I knew most of the music, because I had heard it on radio, TV, and on cruise ships.
When I got home, I looked it up in my movie book and found that sure enough, it had been made into a movie with Marlon Brando and Jean Simmons. Frank Sinatra and Vivian Blaine were also in it. If I ever saw that movie, I can't remember where or when. The year was 1955, and I suppose a brain can get a little cluttered in that much time. Howard
