This thriller by director John McNaughton is a classic case where more is less. Wild Things is so preoccupied with its twists and turns that it forgets to develop characters or suspense. It tries to compensate with perversity, but that of course only cheapens the film. The movie is a decent attempt at the kind of thriller that floors its audience at every turn, but it accomplishes less than it would have had its ambitions not been so high.
