This putrid direct-to-video sequel lacks any semblance of purpose. The boy from the original is grown up now. He returns from a war and gets two more hunting dogs. There are some tragedies that follow, and...oh, who cares. It's not like this junkheap has anything to say or entertainment value to dispense. Even the wise grandpa character from the original is reduced to pointlessness here, his charm and convictions both obliterated. His big insightful climactic speech amounts to little more than "I don't know jack," which would make sense if it were spoken by the writers of this -- excuse the pun -- dog.
