In a rare change of form, this sequel is actually superior to the original. The action and suspense will have you bolted to your chair, and the special effects are breathtaking. Its only significant flaw (besides the usual occasional implausibility in the action scenes) is a bratty little kid. Yet I must sympathize; it's difficult to find good child actors, especially these days. In case you're one of the few people on the planet who know little if anything about this film, don't let anyone tell you, don't read any further reviews, and don't read the back of the box for the video or laserdisc -- you'll spoil one of the greatest twists cinema has to offer.
