Sam Raimi's big blockbuster adaptation of Spiderman is generally entertaining thanks to a storyline with some humanity in it and affecting performances. The action scenes are loud and mechanical, uninvolving perhaps because of an over-reliance on poor computer animation for the stunt work, but the quieter personal moments are enough to draw the viewer in.
