This early Jackie Chan work is one of his best films ever: it's packed with action, athletics, and quick-thinking, as most Jackie Chan vehicles do, but it also has a delightfully winding story, involving numerous sides and Chan's character stuck playing them off each other. American audiences may be interested to see Sammo Hung, of the American television series Martial Law, in a great supporting role: an old but dubious friend who skates on the wrong side of the law. Chan gets tangled up with him and finds it a challenge to keep him from getting them both in trouble.
Watch for the clock tower scene, an homage to silent comic Harold Lloyd's most famous cinematic moment ever.
