It's always a bad idea to make sequels to fondly remembered older films. This made-for-TV sequel to The Parent Trap is a supreme disappointment in the shadow of the original, but taken on its own terms for what it is, it isn't half bad.

Hayley Mills has grown up, as have her characters from the original film. One of them has a mischevious daughter who hatches a matchmaking plot of her own. A harmless, forgettable diversion.
