The idea for Jet Li's hi-tech martial arts action flick Black Mask is an intriguing one: the products of a government sponsored biological engineering project, Li and the badguys have had their nerves removed and can feel no pain. Though a fundamentally silly premise, a good action movie can surely be made from it. But it's not this one, which is grueling, unimaginative, and unbelievable.
