Equipping Murkon

To have Murkon use items of equipment, it's not sufficient to have him carry the item around; you must explicitly tell him to use or wear the equipment. On the 'View' screen, the yellow box lists equipment you are currently using; the purple box lists equipment you're merely carrying. Note that the items that appear in gray are items that Murkon cannot use. Initially, Murkon cannot use any weapons or armor.

To change what equipment Murkon is using, hit the 'Equip' button from the 'View' screen. From there, you will be able to select what equipment Murkon will use. You can have Murkon wear something currently being carried or instruct him to take something off. After you've hit the 'OK' button, the changes will take effect, and his weapon class and armor class values (and any other attributes that might be affected by the change) will be adjusted accordingly.

Some items have special properties that you can only take advantage of if you wear them. Check the 'Examine Inventory' screen to look at the properties of the items Murkon is wearing and carrying.
