Duh! (smacks forehead) I did Greek history for a year, admittedly quite some time ago, and I never put that together. Solon and all those guys making speeches in the Agora. So maybe by extrapolation you could also translate it as a fear of electioneering politicians? Thanks Paul. I like etymology.
