  In Britain, this tends to be "a donkey's age" or "donkeys' years".

  This is probably everywhere in the English speaking world.

  "Drunk as a lord" and "sober as a judge". And, of course, the classic "p***ed as a newt". If anyone knows why newts might be seen as big drinkers, I'd be interested to know.
  One that tended to be used be the older generation a decade or two ago was "I'm not as green as I'm cabbage-looking" meaning "I'm not as gullible as you seem to think".
