It followed a simplistic, overdone formula meant to tug at the heart strings. The whole story is contrived; is there really any doubt to anyone that they *won't* end up together by the end? Anyone who didn't see that coming were probably also quite shocked when the ship sank in 'Titanic'.

I'd like the chance to explain why I included it. First of all, I did say that it was a list of my favorites, not necessarily a pick for best movie ever. Secondly, it was good. The story-line may have been a little sugary-sweet, but it was the first time I've ever seen a movie about an on-line romance. And so it was different. Plus, I am, like I said, a big fan of Tom Hanks. And Meg Ryan is cool too. Just thought I'd clarify that.
