CountBot: Instructions
CountBot is a game where players make up sentences whose words fit specified lengths. Each round, CountBot will supply a list of word lengths, and players must submit sentences composed of words that fit those lengths. For example, if the word lengths 3, 2, 3, 2 are given, the sentence "How do you do?" is a valid submission, because the words in the sentence are 3, 2, 3, and 2 letters long, respectively.
The number of submissions allowed in each round varies, depending on the bot's settings and potentially other factors as well. The number of allowed submissions will be reported as (X/Y accepted), where X is the number of submissions that will be accepted from each player, and Y is the total number of submissions that will be accepted for the round. So, if you are playing a round, you can make up to X submissions, as long as they're within the first Y submissions overall. If you submit more than X submissions, only the last X will be accepted. This allows you to correct mistyped submissions. (Corrections to prior submissions is allowed even if the corrections themselves are not among the first Y submissions.) If Y is an asterisk, that means there is no limit on the total number of submissions allowed.
Players should submit privately, with the /b command, so that other players won't know who made the submission. However, public submissions will still be accepted.
At the end of the round, if only one player has submitted anything, that player will automatically score one point per submission. If at least two players made submissions, the game enters a voting stage. In the voting stage, all submissions are listed in random order, and players must vote for the best submission (other than their own). Vote for a submission by typing vote N, where N is the number of the submission of your choice. If you wish to change your vote, simply issue another vote; only your last vote counts. If any of the submissions are yours, you must cast a vote or forfeit a point; otherwise, voting is optional. Votes should be cast publicly; if a vote is preceded by a /b command, the bot will repeat your vote publicly, under your name.
After the voting stage, each vote counts as one point. The winner is the first person to reach 30 points.
Note: Your performance in this game will be greatly improved if you can run with the "streaming" update method. See the "Options" page for more information.
