Solitude

I save my thoughts for lonely moments when
The pain that overwhelms the world with news
Often destroys ideals and dreams conceived
By precious minds, exposed to all the waste
Of shady worlds that fill them full of hate
And sin; it never seems to give relief.
And so my thoughts are saved for lonely hours,
When I have time to be in tune with songs
Of sunset's vibrant hues and tones, as well
As soft and gentle breezes cool and calm.
