The best film adaptation of an Agatha Christie novel to date, starring Charles Laughton, who fully deserved the Academy Award nomination he received for the role. Throw in mysterious Marlene Dietrich, versatile Tyrone Power, irrepressible Elsa Lanchester (who also received an Academy Award nomination), and Billy Wilder as the director, and you have a powerful, immensely satisfying film with a killer ending. Particularly satisfying is the careful attention given to minute details; there's a lot of nice touches in this one, so keep your eyes peeled.
