"Weird" Al Yankovic assumes control a small-time television station. Obviously there's a (pretty funny) corporate giant at a rival station who wants to shut him down, but really all this plot serves no better or worse goal than providing Al with an opportunity to air his trademark parody humor. It would be adequately funny enough at just that, but the film also features Michael Richards in a pre-Kramer Kramer-like role that rounds things out nicely. No, UHF isn't subtle or sophisticated, but it's funny for what it is.
