True Romance is not for everybody. Quentin Tarantino wrote the script (Tony Scott is the director, but his mark is all but absent here), and in keeping with Tarantino's work, it is brim full of sensationalism, excess, and over the top violence, all redeemed by how fresh and witty and stylized it is. One of the high points is a scene with both Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper (neither have much more screen time than the one scene), which is as delightfully weird and edgy as...well, what else is there that could resemble a scene with Walken and Hopper?
