It's not a prequel to Ken Annakin's Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines from 1965, but it's as reminiscent of that film as the title. Fans of that movie (and its sequel, Those Daring Young Men In Their Jaunty Jalopies) will no doubt be entertained by what might as well be called the unofficial third entry in the series. (It even stars Terry-Thomas, indispensible in movies like this.) It has all manner of tomfoolery, slapstick, and wacky caricature; as long as you're in a sufficiently silly mood, you'll find much to laugh at. The story, oddly enough, is based on a Jules Verne novel and chronicles the comic attempts of scientists, engineers, and politicians to get a manned rocket up to the moon. The science in it is absurd, but that's part of the fun.
