Tyrone Power leads a cast of many in this broad epic soap operatic drama. Power stars as a man looking for something he can't quite define, and that puts a damper on his relationship with the one he loves, played by Gene Tierney. The years go by, and the characters and their interrelationships change. Unlike the brainless soap operas that typically run on television, The Razor's Edge is a satisfying, cohesive story, and while I wouldn't go so far as to call it a character study, it does have some interesting insights. Anne Baxter's tragic performance is exceptional, and Clifton Webb's crusty character is a delight.
