The Hudsucker Proxy is not about its story -- it's about telling it. In this highly entertaining Coen brothers film, Tim Robbins plays a man set on climbing the corporate ladder and selling his idea -- you know, for kids -- to the board. Paul Newman is great as a scheming executive, but Jennifer Jason Leigh goes a little too far with her Katharine Hepburn impersonation. The story and crisp, sparkling dialogue are a throwback to the classic screwball comedies of the thirties and forties, and there's a healthy dose of hilarity thrown in, too. Topping off this surreal film is a surprise ending that'll leave you gaping. Don't let anyone ruin it for you.
