The Desert Hawk (1950)

Reviews and Comments

This many stars to an Arabian Nights style B-movie? It seems impossibly generous, but here's a rare case where the odds are beaten and the pieces all come together. The Desert Hawk is a non-stop adventure with twists aplenty -- disguises, escapes, double-crosses, battles, you name it. The sets and costumes are lavish and colorful, but the story takes its rightful place in the foreground. Make no mistake: this is a B-movie with better than average but still B-movie level production values. But what a fun one it is!
